The International Combine presents the best opportunity for athletes born in 2008 or 2009 to showcase their potential.
Canadian and American scouts as well as NHL agencies will be on-site in-person to evaluate athletes for the WHL, OHL, QMJHL, Junior A, USHL and NCAA.
Charlie Elick and Matt Henry of the WHL Brandon Wheat Kings will be guest coaches at this year's event. Supported by the Leadership Team, they will bring their energy to the rinks and are excellent role models for young athletes looking to the WHL.
The International Combine is a 5-day event with registration and a welcome reception on day 1 followed by a testing day and two game days and the Top Prospects and Future Prospects showcase games on day 5. Two evening workshops will be provided by the Canadian Sport Institute Calgary.
Participation at the International Combine is an important way for your athlete to push higher up the 2008 WHL Draft Rankings. WHL scouts will be in attendance at the International Combine.
The Canadian Sport Institute Calgary (CSI Calgary) will be delivering dry-land and on-ice testing on day 2 of the International Combine. CSI Calgary provides athlete testing and sport science solutions to Canada’s Olympic, Paralympic, and National Team Athletes, including being the trusted testing partner to the Calgary Flames. This will be a great experience for any young athlete with dreams of reaching pro hockey.
This event is being led by a team of world class hockey experts. Ron Johnson provides development services to more than 40 NHL players. Dino Caputo is a Regional Scout for the Tri-City Americans. Kevin Henry is Head Coach for the U18 AA Humboldt Broncos. Shawn McBride has been an important part of the Delta Hockey. Jeff Pickell is currently coaching with the Calgary Buffaloes Association.

Only 10 minutes from the hotel, the 7 Chiefs Sportsplex features top quality ice surfaces on two NHL sized rinks plus a full range of fitness and testing facilities. Testing sessions on day 2 will include dry-land testing in two of the basketball courts and on-ice testing on the two rinks. Game days and the Top Prospects Showcase will utilize both rinks with the ice being cleaned every two periods.
Located 30 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from downtown, the Grey Eagle Resort & Casino is one of Alberta’s top destination resorts. Amazing food, great rooms and panoramic views are just the beginning. Athletes and families staying at the hotel will get complimentary breakfasts and shuttles to and from the 7 Chiefs Sportsplex.
Registration is $925 per athlete. Payment is made online at the time of registration.
Kevin is located in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and operates Western Elite Hockey Prospects providing scouting, interviewing, and information services for players born '07-'09 in Western Canada and the United States. Kevin's son Matt plays in the WHL for the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Keith’s son Ciaran is an 08 attending the Delta Hockey Academy in the CSSH. Keith supports his son’s hockey journey and has coached the Vancouver Leafs Elite spring team for a number of years. Keith is the General Manager for Western Elite Hockey Prospects and continues to support the hockey community throughout Western Canada.
